Nursing

Rehabilitation nurses adopt a wellness model of care and have the ability to see ‘the big picture’.  Their approach sees nurses focus on a the person’s abilities rather than focusing on disabilities.

Rehabilitation nurses use a repertoire of skills best described as the seven domains of practice that intertwine,  including:

  1. The rehabilitative approach
  2. The teaching and coaching role
  3. Observation, assessment and interpretation
  4. Administering and monitoring therapeutic interventions
  5. Management of rapidly changing situations
  6. Management, advocacy and coordination
  7. Monitoring and ensuring quality of health practices
